hi.

"He grabbed the horn of the saddle with both hands and, with as much care as he could muster, clambored up the perilous vertical distance to perch himself atop this, his highest of horses."
Yes, Mr. Neigh-Neigh has been brought out of her stable. For why? Exhibit A:

Nevermind that even the Catholic Church (tm) is raising it's wrinkled hand for such ballyhoo as "evidence" and "gargantuan mountains of evidence". Nevermind that Creationism, in it's current literal form, is basically a modern phenomenon. That there is a museum honouring the desecration of an entire crucial field of modern scientific inquiry because of no more than a quartet of verses in an ancient oft-translated text is actual honest-to-goodness obscenity.

These people used to be easy to ignore! Their ideas were so backwards and irrelevent that they actually seemed quaint and innocent. But somewhere along the line, some joker taught these rubes salesmanship. They have become, if not masters of, at least competent at rhetoric and logical sleights-of-hand, and they have somehow positioned a fairy-tale as a competing hypothesis against what is largely considered the most successful theory in the history of ideas. And now, preying on poor America's tremendous miseducation, they are deliberately drawing in, and lying to, children. Aren't there laws protecting children from massive intellectual dishonesty?

It's deeply disturbing. Read a god-damn book. No, not that one. You've read that one and it's confusing. Read a different one, and the rest of us will just sit here waiting for that dang old pendulum to swing back into reason.
