hi,

Preparations have commenced for Quinzmas '07, a song is being incubated, ideas are dripping off of us like condensation on a hot ham flank. It really is the most magical time of year, this several month period before the Most Magical Time of Year.

Food troubles #6 and 7: I'm trying to cook meals more often, as befits a man who is nearing a half a half a century. As any boy with a poorly scrubbed fry pan will tell you, food preparation is largely trial and error, and this proves clearly troublesome when one is forced to consume one's errors. The most recent error: I was attempting a pan-seared prosciutto and chicken ... thing, and I became so overwhelmed with hunger that I just started to jam it in my face. I got about halfway through until my other senses finally kicked back in and I realized that my little treat had a cold, chewy center. Begrudgingly, I put it back in the pan for a while, but the fact that I didn't spend the night whole-heartedly retching seems to be pure luck and maybe some gastronomical fortitude, brought on by savage foodlust.

Oh yes, and I just ate a tuna sandwich that was sitting in my backpack overnight. I could tell it had turned a little, but I still ate it all up. Move over, Martha Stewart.

Next week David and I will be helping this guy make his next album. He's a talented gent, and if pre-pro is any indicator this should prove to be an extremely fine album. It's also nice to get back on the old four-stringed horse again and gallop to and fro in the Low Frequency Pastures of Rumbletown.
